Anton, the pilot, took me on a river flight safari upstream of the falls, overhead a myriad of islands and passing right by the hotel, saw buffalo, giraffe, rhino, zebra, hippo and crocodiles, plus a whole menu of birds, including storks, egrets, several herons species (with a special low level flight past a Goliath heron), sacred and hadada ibis, plovers, lapwings, jacanas and cormorants. “Good trip. Complimentary bar was available for 2 hours & 45 minutes and no restrictions on what you could drink. Snack of chicken skewer, samosa & spring roll provided, with some nuts. Large boat, with upper & lower decks. Slightly disappointed with the amount of wildlife seen. We saw a fair few birds, a group of hippos and a crocodile. In fairness, as it’s the rainy season, the need for animals to come down to the river is less. Accommodation pick up/drop off worked well. Overall, I was glad that I took this excursion and would rate it as good.”

En om 17.00 zijn we naar de Zambezi gelopen, waar een blauwe kano lag. Bleek lek te zijn. Toch even geprobeerd, decrivier op, nax5 min weer terug aan de wal, zat inmiddels in het water, we moesten deze kano zelf in balans houden. Veel te gevaarlijk met alle hippo's en krokodillen op het breedst vd Zambezi met deze kleine wankele lekke houten kano. Een uur kletsen met de dorpsbewoners…”

Wir wurden 20min zuspät abgeholt, dann ging eine freundliche Dame mit uns 15min durch dieses Dorf. Anschließend mussten wir in einen Mark, indem uns mit einer furchtbaren Aufdringlichen Art, Sachen unter die Nase geschoben wurden. Alles in allem, wurden aus 2,5std Dorftour mit Getränken und Snaks, 15min und nicht mal ein Wasser.”
